In this section of Te Kotiritiri the first of the tasks I completed was the Mural Team

In the mural team we came to school on most weekends to room 9  to start and finish the murals that are now found outside the year 8 common room. These murals all started when some university students eager to help in our community came to Merrin and to help us brain storm ideas and start painting our Mural

The second task is investigate crafts from different cultures. In this I investigated fair isle knitting from the Shetland islands north of Scotland. I found this craft from my mother because she knitted a full jersey and took her 2 months. My small patch only took 30 minutes

Academic excellence

In this category we have 8 tasks to complete which includes

I completed AE7 blogging Create  and maintain a digital Te kotiritiri which you can see I have done my best to complete and get the Te Kotiritiri badge.

My final task for Te Kotiritiri was Enter an external writing competition. For this Mr Barr set up a character description competition I did a character description on Percy Jackson. Here it is below.

Percy Jackson Character Description

When we first meet Percy Jackson, he is a thirteen year old boy who lives in America. Percy is a demi-god (half boy half god) and is very strong. He goes to school at the Yancy academy for troubled kids. This is because he has dyslexia and often finds himself in difficult situations, not always of his own making. For example, he vaporized his maths teacher by mistake. At this time, Percy lives with his mother, whom he loves very much.
Percy then discovers he is a demigod. It turns out he is the son of Poseidon, the god of the sea.  Percy begins attending a special school for demigods, Half Blood Hill.
Percy is the bravest Demigod on Half Blood Hill. Time after time he saves his friends, Annabeth and Grover from danger.
He is always willing to embark on an adventure. He accepted a Quest to find Zeus’s lost lightning bolt
He is very loyal to his friends. Always having their back in need of a shoulder to cry on and protecting them from evil.
When it is necessary, he can be ruthless. By killing a Minotaur with no weapons and with his friends cutting Medusa’s head off.

Percy doesn't appear to have any real character deficiencies. I would like to meet him because he has good characteristics. I would to be his friend because he is loyal and always has you back. I wouldn't like to be Percy standing up to gods and slaying beasts.
